Triple Spiral: Rejuvenate, Sculpt, Maintain

Triple Spiral

After returning from my third trip to the beautiful Isles of Ireland and Scotland,  I have a lot to share with you about what i’ve learned. First, I want to  start with the Celtic Triple Spiral, why I love it & why you’ll see it repeatedly in my writings and fitness programs.

I personally believe that the Triple Spiral remains relevant to the rapid changes and cycles in modern society.  I love life so much that I can go 1,000 miles an hour and get off balanced. Sound familiar?  When my life lacks balance, it usually leads to a physical burnout.  That’s why I created The MT3 Fitness & Nutrition system.   After years of working with clients i realized I ‘m not the only one who burns out, gains weight and feel out of balance. Has this happened to you? If so,  my best advise is to avoid the self sabotage thoughts, stress & panic and get right back onto the rejuvenation plan & slow down.

Life is always changing.  Just like the seasons every year, your body’s want and needs are also changing. People who are not able to adjust sufficiently to the changing seasons or life get sick. While other people learn to adapt, some people are not able to and the seasons & life take its toll on their bodies and wellbeing.

The best way to adapt is to give the body the best care it needs at the current moment. This requires that you learn to listen and act on the body’s current needs.

This is not a one size fits all world especially when it comes to diets and exercising programs.  Avoid comparing yourself to the newest weight loss trends or what other people are doing. Learn to listen to what your bodies messages are telling you. Decide for yourself what fitness program is best for you now.

The Triple Spiral is a revered symbol of the ancient Celts. It is one of the most important symbols in Celtic culture way before the Romans and, eventually, the Christians came to the Isles.

To the Celts, the Triple Spiral represents a life cycle – they relate the symbol to the sun (which reflects life on Earth), the afterlife and reincarnation, or even birth. The Celts believed that all of the important aspects in life like the birth of a child, the death of a loved one, and the rebirth of the spirit come in three phases.

Because Celts were known to have a concept of material existence, some scholars also propose that the Triple Spiral also represents the unity of the earth, water, and sky or  body, mind and spirit  or or father, mother and child connection.

The photo above is one of my favorite pictures of me in front of the entrance of Newgrange grounds in Ireland.  Can you see how the Triple Spiral incorporated into the rock? The Triple Spiral is so important that it appears in many pieces of Celtic art that have been discovered. We can talk about that in later articles, of course, because they are too many to mention!

What cycle of the Triple Spiral will your body benefit most from now? Rejuvenate, Sculpt or Maintain?

Leave a comment below. I want to know your experience of when a doctor, friend or trainer was telling you you need to follow a certain program and you knew it wasn’t correct for you and you just did it anyways. What kept you from trusting  your inner voice? Do you love the Triple Spiral as much as I do?

ps. I’ve gained a little weight myself from that long holiday. I started the rejuvenation plan again. I had to end the daily sugar cravings and got rid of the bloated stomach. I’m ready to start the sculpt plan now. You can join me . Let’s do it together!
